Numerous well-groomed cross-country ski trails, suitable for every skill level, run through the white landscape. In some cases, the entry point is even right in front of the hotel – just strap on your cross-country skis and head off to your unforgettable nature experience. Cross-country skiing allows you to find peace despite the effort.

Forgot your cross-country skis? No problem. You can rent some in the house (for a fee).

In our surroundings, there are three ski slopes suitable for both beginners and experienced skiers:

Spies lift system in the heart of Franconian Switzerland with a small, family-friendly sledding hill
Hohenstein lift system below the old castle complex and at 624 meters altitude the most snow-safe area in the region
Longest descent with 800 meters length in Osternhohe

Winter riding

The snow dusts under the hooves ...

As soon as the meadows are covered by a thick layer of snow, horse lovers big and small can look forward to unique riding moments.

And if it’s a bit too cold outside, you can also take a round in the riding hall during winter or obtain the Eibtaler Hof horse license.

Dreamlike Experiences

The natural lakes of the nature park become natural ice surfaces in winter, but even if the lakes are not yet passable, you do not have to miss out on your very special winter experience thanks to the artificial ice rink and artificial ice surface.
